Bio:
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist at Insight Psychological and work closely with my supervisors to ensure you are receiving the best mental health care possible. Previously, I completed my practicum with The Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre, working with adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors and their families. Additionally, I worked as a Sexual Assault Response Team member and a Crisis Line Volunteer and gained valuable experience in crisis intervention and providing support in times of immense stress. I have Level II certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, though I have also been successful in integrating Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy into sessions with clients. It is a dream of mine to work as a Play Therapist with children, thus, I am happy to take clients aged 3 and older to fully develop my skills with Play Therapy.
Within my previous Educational Assistant position, I had the opportunity to work extensively with children from a variety of developmental abilities and feel confident in bringing these skills forward into my work as a therapist. I firmly acknowledge that everyone has their own unique abilities, and, in my practice, I ensure that I approach everyone from an individualized stance and take time to recognize client strengths and encourage skill development. From this strengths-based approach, I hope to empower clients to create change for themselves and feel successful.
